Already Overwhelmed by 2025? You’re Not Alone

It’s only January 22nd, and this year has already thrown a lot at us. Many of us began 2025 with hopes for a fresh start, but things didn’t quite go as planned.

In just a few weeks, we’ve faced a devastating fire that has deeply affected so many. We experienced the chaos of TikTok being banned and then brought back again, and we had to face the arrival of a new president. It’s been a whirlwind, to say the least.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone. The pace of these events can make it hard to stay focused on your priorities and mental well-being. But it’s important to take a step back and check in with yourself:

  • How are you feeling right now?

  • What do you need to feel more grounded?

  • Are your priorities still aligned with what matters to you?

While we can’t control everything around us, we can choose how we respond. Taking small steps to care for yourself—whether that means journaling, practicing mindfulness, or just giving yourself a break—can make a big difference.

This year didn’t start the way we hoped, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be great. Take things one day at a time, and remember to be kind to yourself. You’ve got this.
